Runggiyan's work aims to contribute to social development in the Eastern Visayas through targetted projects. We work directly with women, youth and children to help empower them through reproductive health, entrepreneurship development and alternative basic education.
Runggiyan runs two strategic programs that cover all our operations concerning development. They are;
PRO-WOMEN (Promoting Women's Meaningful Participation in Nation Building). under this program, Runggiyan;
- runs a Women's Support Center for survivors of abuse, providing emergency shelter, counselling and para-legal assistance
- advocates and organises for women's health and safe motherhood
- maintains an information resource center
- provides micro finance and entrepreneurship development
EASY (Enhancing Educational/Entrepreneurial Access for School-Age Children and Youth) sees Runggiyan delivering the following;
- alternative education for out of school of youth and other students of the Home Study Program
- formal education scholarships for child laborers
- reproductive health awareness for and action amongst adolescents through training and peer education
- micro finance and skill development for the entrepreneurial skills of young people
- promotes the rights of children and to create child and youth friendly societies
