The Program

The promotion of Rural Employment through Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship
Development (PRESEED) is a response to the limited wage employment opportunities
available in the rural areas. It is designed to promote self-employment among
rural workers and their families who have entrepreneurial potential by providing
them access to the entrepreneurship training, credit and technical assistance.

Specifically, the program is address to the "assetless" and
landless rural workers who are capable of absorbing new entrepreneurial activities.

PRESEED is a joint undertaking of the Bureau of Rural Workers, the DOLE-Regional
Offices, the National Manpower and Youth Council, Non-Government organizations which
serve as the program's "eligible conducts" for its loan facility.

Pilot implementation of PRESEED started in Regions 6 and 10 and will be implemented
in Regions 2, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 12.
