TACLOBAN CITY – Per Proclamation No. 721 by the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Nov. 15, 2004 has been declared as non-working day throughout the country in observance of the EID-UL-FITRE or Feast of Ramadhan.
Republic Act No. 9177 declared EID-UL-FITRE as a regular holiday, however, the date on which the Feast of Ramadhan falls varies form year to year depending on the si0ghting of the new moon.
For CY 2004, the Feast of Ramadhan has been declared to fall on Monday, November 25, 2004.
To promote cultural understanding and integration, the entire Filipino nation is hereby given the full opportunity to join our Muslim brothers and sisters in observing and celebrating this significant day. This will also bring the religious and cultural significance of the Feast of Ramadhan to the fore of national consciousness, and upon recommendation of the Office of Muslim Affairs, it is necessary tom declare Monday, November 15, 2004 as a special non-working day throughout the country without prejudice to the public interest.
