TACLOBAN CITY – The City Engineer’s Office here is doing its best to solve the flooding problem besetting the city especially during the rainy season.
Engr. Concepcion Esperas, OIC of city Engineer’s Office, said that the P4.2- million Borayan Bridge project along Marasbaras national road has been started already to solve the flooding problem that occur in the area whenever there is heavy rain.
The recipients of this project, she said, are residents of the V and G subdivision, Caibaan, Imelda Village, Calanipawan and some nearby barangays.
“As of this, there will be rerouting of all vehicles passing the area because the road was temporarily closed to facilitate the early completion of the project,” Esperas said.
The project is being undertaken in close coordination with the traffic management group, barangay officials and the police sub-station in the area.
“We had a meeting with DPWH officials, particularly this from the 1st Leyte Engineering District, Tacloban sub-district engineering office, as well as with the contractors of the projects to discuss the rerouting scheme,” Esperas said.
The said project was started this October and is expected to be completed by May next year.
