‘Bantay Tambutso’ group conducts roadside inspections in Tacloban

TACLOBAN CITY– Members of Bantay Tambutso Taskforce in Eastern Visayas, which was created a year ago, have reactivated their commitment to apprehend vehicles violating the Clean Air Act Law.

During a recent roadside inspection along Congressman Artemio Mate Avenue, this city, the law enforcement division of Land Transportation Office has tested 22 public utility vehicles and apprehended 18 of these vehicles for violating the Clean Air Act Law.

Land Transportation Office (LTO) Assistant Regional Director Romulo Bernades told Leyte Samar Daily Express that this roadside inspection of vehicles was among the activities they had lined up for the Celebration o3f Clean Air Act Month this November.

The Bantay Tambutso Taskforce was created in support of the campaign to ensure that the people would enjoy the right to inhale clean air.

Bernades said this Bantay Tambutso Taskforce is being headed by the LTO, with the City Government of Tacloban, Leyte Samar Daily Express, DENR, DTI, TESDA, and Rotary Club of Leyte Gulf as members.
