TACLOBAN CITY – Different groups have expressed support to the campaign of the Victory Outreach Ministries International to bring back to fold those who have lost the right path because of the influence of illegal drugs.
In a letter of Leticia Corillo, assistant regional director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to its fi0el2d officer in provinces and cities, she asked them to assist Virgie Lovely Sanvictores, regional overseer of Victory Outreach in their respective areas.
Sanvictores is spearheading an advocacy against drug dependency and extend free rehabilitation services to drug dependents, alcoholics and victims of other forms of addiction.
“Our school the Eastern Samar National Comprehensive High School (ESNCHS) is indeed thankful for this opportunity of being able to hear and see (the film showing) instances where drug related problems encountered by the youths is really damaging to ones health and total personality of the drug user,” said Teresa Siguan, ESNCHS school principal.
The film showing at the ESNCHS, which aims to inject the minds of students the negative effect if illegal drug use, was held last November 17. It was the kick-off of the seri0es of film showing activity of Victory Outreach.
For the part of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Calbayog City, they have thanked Victory Outreach for “sharing the word of God and educating inmates on the effect of drugs that they may be enlightened and rehabilitated.”
“We are very much thankful to the Victory Outreach for giving us time to visit our jail and offer free rehabilitation care for those inmates with drug related cases. And help them transform their lives through feeding the word of God,” said Insp. Ruben Buna, jail warden of BJMP in Borongan.
Sanvictores said that in her meeting with Mayor Neliptha Figueroa of Zumarraga, Samar, she expressed support to the campaign of the group.
Figueroa, who is the present mayor’s league in Eastern Visayas, has vowed to disseminate the information regarding the services of Victory Outreach to her colleagues in the local government.

Victory Outreach was founded in California, USA in 1967 with a former drug addict, Sonny Arguinzoni as their founder. The organization is now established worldwide.
