Hundreds stranded as ‘Unding’ passes EV

TACLOBAN CITY – As tropical storm “Unding” threatened to hit Eastern Visayas on Monday, hundreds of passengers and utility bus were stranded mostly in ferry terminals in Allen, Northern Samar and Liloan, Southern Leyte, while some sea crafts docked in Ormoc City were prevented to travel by the Philippine Coast Guard due to strong winds.

Storm signal number 1 was then hoi1sted in this city and in the province of Biliran while storm signal number two was raised in Eastern Samar and Northern Samar.

Blanche Gobenciong, officer-in-charge of the Office of Civil Defense, told Leyte Samar Daily Express that as of yesterday morning there was no report any untoward incident occurred in connection with tropical storm “UNding” except for some slight flooding in some parts of Northern Samar and Eastern Samar.

Tropical st7rom “Unding” is the fifth typhoon to hit Eastern Visayas this year.
