NMP gets full budget for outstanding performance

TACLOBAN CITY – As incentive to an “outstanding performance in financial, income and physical accomplishments,” Department of Budget and Management central office has given the National Maritime Polytechnic based in Cabalawan here its full remaining appropriated budget for the fourth of the year in the amount of around 2.4 million pesos cash allocation.

DBM Secretary Emelia Boncodin in a letter dated October 27 has issued the Special Allotment Release Order No. B-04-02736 authorizing the release to NMP the amount of 2, 357, 500.00 pesos to cover its operating requirements for the fourth quarter of the year.

Boncodin rewarded the Polytechnic with the release of its remaining appropriated budget for the fiscal year 2004 after the latter obtained an outstanding rating in a performance review covering the 1st semester of the year pursuant to National Budget Circular No. 492.

MNP Budget Officer and OIC Head Admin and Finance Erma V. Montebon cited NMP’s significant accomplishment exhibited during the period which include remarkable increase in training certificates issued, improved fund utilization rate and income generation.

As this developed, NMP Executive Director Noriel P. Devanadera all the more raised hopes of the NMP employees after he assured them early release of Christmas bonus, cash gift and other legitimate incentives chargeable against saving.

These include the payment of hazard pays and other benefits covered under the Magna Carta for Science and Technology professionals.

Devanadera said this development would also help fast track the completion of programmed projects such as repairs and important procurements.
