BORONGAN, Eastern Samar – The Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Eastern Samar Chapter received recently a donation of 50 volumes of the Supreme Court Reports Annotated (SCRA) from Congressman Marcelino C. Libanan.

The reference books that serve as very important reference materials for lawyers and law students would be accessible to them on the open shelves at the IBP Building near the Provincial Capitol SCRA features decisions, jurisprudence of interpretation of the Supreme Court of the Philippines on matters of law.

The turn-over rites was timed on the Christmas party of the organization on December 11.

According to Atty. Allan Tan, former assistant secretary of the Department of Transportation and Communication, who represented Libanan during the affair, the said books would be a big help to those who are in the legal field such as legal researchers, prosecutors, practicing lawyers and even judges who can ill afford the cost of their own personal law library. The new books will bean addition to the more than 200 volumes of SCRA available at the IBP building.

Atty. Rufilo L. Tan, the incumbent president of the organization, said that the members of the organization were very thankful to Libanan, who himself is a lawyer, for extending his generosity to his “compa ñeros.” He said that aside from the books, a new computer set installed with software’s on legal maters was also donated.
