Tacloban police station conducts ‘Best TCPS’ this Christmas season
By: Lemuel L. Pagliawan

TACLOBAN CITY – In line with the Christmas season, the city central police station is conducting a contest for “Best TCPS Office 2004” in terms of Christmas decorations.

Joining the contest are the city central office divisions/sections and its substations located in Diit, Marasbaras, V&G, Public Market, San Jose, Sagkahan, including the PROSAC and Community Precinct which are located in this city.

The winner in the contest will receive P1, 000 prize only because, according to a police officer, the office is also observing austerity measures at present.

But city police chief Supt. Arnulfo Cruz pointed out that this contest is just an invitation to the said TCPS offices to participate on voluntary base in a simple and inexpensive contest because of obvious financial reasons.

City police media liaison officer SPO2 Romeo PLasquita told Leyte Samar Daily Express that they also considered the media as partner in this activity because media personalities will act as judges who will vote on which office will be accounted as winner in this Christmas decorations contest.

Meanwhile, on Dec. 13 this year, Cruz had ordered the supply section of the central police station to host the flag ceremony, on which vent newly-promoted police officers would be given due recognition.

It would be highlighted by a thanksgiving mass in the honor for being promoted officers, which would be officiated by the Police Regional Office (PRO-8) chaplain.

In an initial list furnished to this paper, there are at least 10 commissioned PNP officers promoted. They were Chief Insp. Erwin Portillo, Sr. Insp. Daniel Eclipse, Sr. Insp. REmegio Serna, Sr. Insp. Analito Amoroto, Insp. Daniel Albento, Insp. Mariano Callera, Insp. Franciscop Demillo, Insp. Jaime Corilla, Insp. Atilano Adona, and Insp. Arnulfo Militante.

Along with them, there are also around 20 non-commissioned officers who will be given honor for being promoted i0n their field of service.

Plasquita said there are still other police officers that are to be added to the list.
