CATARMAN, Northern Samar – In an effort to promote tourism in Northern Samar both to foreigners and local tourists, the Provincial Government through the Provincial Tourism Office joins the WOW Philippines “Brest of Eastern Visayas in Intramuros” showcase which is being held from December 1 to 15 thus year.

The showcase is parti0ci0pated in by all six provinces of Eastern Visayas – Biliran, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Northern Samar, Samar and Southern Leyte – as well as by the cities of Calbayog, Maasin, Ormoc, and Tacloban.

Highlights of the affair are the trade fairs, cultural presentations, concerts, agri-aqua fairs, fireworks display, Eastern Visayas food festival parades, and the 2004 Kiddie Star Model search.

Among the cultural performers are Calbayog City forming arts group who presented “Biringan”, Eadtern Samar’s Cultural Group; the Rah-rah Rousers of Palo Leyte; Samar Cultural Group; Balinsayaw of Tanuauan, Leyte; Maasin cultural Group; and the Leyte Dance Theater of Jess de Raz.

Northern Samar promoted local destinations like the Rawis Cave, Biri Rock Island, Capul Lighthouse, Las Navas Pinipisakan Falls, and the centuries-old churches in various towns.
