TACLOBAN CITY – The incumbent mayor of San Miguel, Leyte, Proto “Toty” Brazil, was proclaimed by the municipal board of canvassers as winner against his younger brother, Protacio Brazil.
The elder Brazil garnered a total of 4,311 votes while his bother Protacio only got 3,818 votes.
Meanwhile, incumbent Vice Mayor Almar Balais was defeated by Atty. Matusalem Calamaya. The latter garnered 4,461 votes while the former only got 3,042 votes.
Also proclaimed winners in the Sangguniang Bayan race were: Prospero Brazil, also a brother of the mayor who garnered 5,157 votes. He followed by Napoleon Lesigues with 5,091 votes; Samuel Babiano 4,947; Margarito Asis 4,810 votes; Ruben Agner 4,728 votes; Richard Len Lapidario 4,479; Corazon Valeriano 4,168; and Angel Acuin 4,089 votes.
The new town officials of San Miguel, Leyte, which is an hour drive away from this city, will take their ought by next month.
