CAMP RUPERTO KANGLEON, Palo, Leyte – Police Deputy Director General Avelino Ignacio Razon, Deputy Chief for Administration, Philippine National Police, graced the turnover ceremony of Police Regional Office 8 as Guest of Honor and Speaker on May 21, 2007 at PRO8 grounds.
Arrival honors was rendered to PDDG Razon and to other visiting generals including Police Director Jesus Ame Versoza, CSEE, Acting Chief, Directorial Staff, who was the Guest of Honor during the blessing and inauguration of Magilas Lounge.
Outgoing Regional Director Chief Supt. Eliseo Decena dela Paz, will now serve as Chief of HRDD. He was replaced by incoming Regional Director Abner Dayanan Cabalquinto, formerly DRDA of Region 4.
Before the program proper, there was an entrance of troops by PRO8 Organic Personnel and Trooping the line by outgoing Regional Director Chief Supt. Dela Paz accompanied by Supt. Brigido Basio Unay, the Battalion Commander.
During he program proper, the invocation was led by Fr. Ronnie Mora, welcome remarks by Chief Supt. Teodorico Rifareal Lapuz IV, Deputy Regional Director for Administration, Reading of Termination and Designation order by Sr. Supt. Prudencio A. Dela Cruz, OIC RPHRDD, Remarks and Relinquishing of Office by Chief Supt. Dela Paz, Outgoing RD by SPO4 Romeo Arellano, RESPO, presentation of awards to the outgoing RD by PDDG Avelino I. Razon, DCA, Assumption of Office and remarks Chief Supt. Abner Dayanan Cabalquinto, incoming RD PRO8, Turn Over of office symbol by personal flag of incoming RD by SPO4 Arellano, introduction of the guest of honor and speaker by PCSupt Cabalquinto and message of the guest of honor and speaker.
In his remarks, Chief Supt. Dela Cruz chose not to mention all his programs and projects in his stint as Regional Director of PRO8 for mostly 3 years, he said he will let the people tell what are the accomplishments of PRO8 under his watch.
On the other hand, Chief Supt. Cabalquinto, the new RD, emphasized that as new Regional Director, he will implement Anti-Criminality Program, conduct active role in Internal Security Operations with Local Government Units and will enhance moral recovery program.
He further said, “PRO8 don’t need a great man, PRO8 needs only ordinary people who can do great things.”
He urged all the PNP personnel in Eastern Visayas to “know your duty and perform it to the best of your ability.”
The activity ended with presentation of Plaque of Appreciation and Memento to the guest of honor and speaker.
