Ormoc mayor Codilla meets road accident

TACLOBAN CITY – Ormoc City Mayor Eric Codilla met a vehicular accident yesterday morning while enroute to this city from Ormoc along the national highway in Brgy. Abango, Barugo, Leyte.

Codilla said he was on board his Space Gear car with his wife Jing-jing and four others when suddenly a car coming from the opposite direction swerved to the left side of the road, hitting the left gear portion of their vehicle.

He added that as a result of the impact their car turned to 390 degrees, eventually hitting a passenger multi-cab ahead of them.

One of the passengers of the multi-cab died while some were injured.

Lady ANN Yao Domino, who was on her way to Ormoc City, saw the accident and brought Codilla and his wife and companions to Bethany hospital in Tacloban City fro medical treatment.

Codilla disclosed that no one inside their car was injured except for minor bruises although the vehicle was a total wreck.

The passenger of the multi-cab who was killed was attended to by Codilla.

The vehicle which ht Codilla’s car is owned by Jeffrey Japitan, a former manager of Philpos in Isabel, Leyte.

The mayor and his wife were trying to catch the 8 a.m. flight bound for Manila yesterday to attend a conference at the Century Park Hotel when they figured in the road accident at about 7 a.m.
