106 couples join mass wedding
By: City Media Office

TACLOBAN CITY – Some one hundred six (106) couples had successfully exchanged their “I do’s” yesterday during the Mass Wedding ceremony held at the Kanhuraw Convention Center, officiated by City Mayor Alfredo “Bejo” Romualdez.

Couples from Brgy. 62-B, Brgy. 62-A, Brgy. 96, Brgy. 95, Brgy. 95-A, Brgy. 49 and Brgy. 109-A were able to benefit from this free Civil Marriage program.

In his speech, the outgoing Mayor said that he wants to continue his plans for the city through his son Alfred, who is now seeking the mayoralty post which he will soon vacate.

He emphasized that he can vouch for his son, whom he believes will continue to implement his plans to make Tacloban City progress further, as corruption will definitely not be an issue because his son is a man of principle and not corrupt.

Mayor Bejo announced to the audience present during the gathering to vote for his son to be the next mayor of this city, as Alfred possesses all the qualities the voters look for in a candidate.

The mayor otherwise endorsed his nephew, Ferdinand Martin “FM” Romualdez who he (Mayor Bejo) also believes to be a man of principle and will be a good Congressman for the First District of Leyte.

The said gathering was also graced by re-electionist Councilors Robert Hernandez, Sambo Yaokasin, Bianco Mate and Rufino “Pax” Pacanan.
