CAMP LUKBAN, Catbalogan, Samar - The 8th Infantry Division, Philippine Army announced that there would be a scheduled qualifying examination to applicants who are interested to join the Philippine Army on the following dates and venue: February 28 at H8RCDG, Ormoc City; March 1 at 804CDC, 8RCDG, Leyte Colleges, Tacloban City; March 2-3 - H8ID, Camp Lukban, Catbalogan, Samar.
The qualifying examination would be conducted by the Philippine Army Aptitude Test Battery (PAATB) Team as a mandatory requirement for applicants of the Officer’s Candidate Course (OCC), Officer’s Preparatory Course (OPC) and Candidate Soldier Course (CSC).
An applicant must have the following basic qualifications: must be a natural born Filipino citizen, possesses good moral character, no pending case in any court of law, physically and mentally fit for rigorous military training, with a height of at least 5’4" for male and 5’2" for female, unmarried and without a child. Additional requirements for CSC are the following:
* Must have earned at least 72 units in college for both male and female;
* High School graduates should possess technical skills highly desirable for acceptance in the military service; and
* At least 18 but not more than 26 years of age at the time of appointment.
While additional requirements for OCC and OPC are:
* must have graduated from a Baccalaureate degree, and
* between 21 to 29 years old.
