TACLOBAN CITY - The provincial government of Leyte through Gov. Carlos Jericho “Icot” L. Petilla extended support to the victims of the landslide in Brgy. Guinsaugon St. Bernard Southern Leyte by sending a medical team, support group and relief goods to the said barangay.
Petilla instructed Dr. Josenilo Bunado, OIC provincial health officer, to form a medical team composed of three doctors, three nurses and the support group led by Dr. Winston Villaflor to give medical assistance to the victims.
The Leyte provincial medical team will stay in Anahawan district hospital until the rescue operation is over. There are three district hospitals that will help in giving medical assistance to the victims of the landslide, namely, Hilongos district hospital, Sogod district hospital and Maasin district hospital.
In a phone interview with Gov. Petilla yesterday, he said that his office is ready to extend assistance especially by transporting the relief goods to the place of the disaster.
He wants to tell the people that with this kind of disaster each and everyone will help each other to overcome this tragedy.
