Nabbed 11 th most wanted man in EV presented to the media

TACLOBAN CITY – The police arrested recently the 11 most wanted man in the region with a P50, 000 rewards for his arrest.

Chief Dionisio Coloma Jr., police regional chief, presented the long wanted man identified as Alfredo Porral alias Jessie Ocenar, 46, a native of Carigara, Leyte who was arrested in Brgy. Batanlapoc, Botolan, Zambales.

Coloma said that Porral, who was detained at the Carigara sub-provincial jail in 1992, escaped from jail through the help of two other inmates.

During interrogation by the police, it was found out that Porral was a former member of the Brosas-Makabento Group involved in robbery holdup in Leyte in the 1980s and late 1990s.

But Porral vehemently denied his participation in the robbery holdup when asked by media reporters.

The arresting police officers was headed by Sr. Insp. Avelino Doncillo, Jr., deputy head of the regional intelligence and investigation division, was armed with a want of arrest issued against Porral.

The suspect was accused of murder and robbery, illegal possession of firearm, his case pending for arraignment before the Regional Trial Court in Carigara, Leyte.

After their successful operation in Zambales, the same police3 team immediately proceeded to Sta. Rita, Samar where a suspect in a double murder case was also arrested on Tuesday by a team headed by Coloma.

The accused was identified as Edgar Alvarez, 33, former barangay tanod of Brgy. La Paz, Sta. Rita.

Alvarez was accused of killing his uncle by the name of Osias Gaas and a quack doctor identified only as a certain Tony sometime in April 2003.

During the presentation that accused said he decide to kill his uncle for alleged cattle rustling activities in the barangay.

The quack doctor, who was at the Gaas house, was also killed due to his questionable treatment of his brother’s son, he added
