TACLOBAN CITY – A the Eastern Samar Police Office has been declared as “Outstanding Police Provincial Office of the Year” and would be awarded during the celebration of the Philippine National Police Day on February 2.
Chief Supt. Dionisio Benito Coloma Jr., police regional director for Eastern Visayas, told Leyte Samar Daily Express that Eastern Samar Police Prov’l Office has excellent performance in 2004, among them the neutralization of illegal drugs in this province.
Coloma said the guest of honor and speaker during the PNP Day celebration is PNP Director General Edgardo Aglipay, who will personally hand over the award to the Eastern Samar PPO and other awardees.
Coloma said the PNP Day celebration at the police regional office would be simple.
He said the other awardees include some members of PNP, the judiciary, non-government organizations, local government units and the local media who had been supportive to the program of the Philippine National Police.
Meanwhile, Supt. Pio Laher Manito, provincial director of the Eastern Samar PPO, told Leyte Samar Daily Express that he was happy that their office was ad judged ‘Outstanding Police Office of the Year.”
Supt. Manito said that since he assumed last August 23, 2004 as provincial director of Eastern Samar PPO he implement the programs coming from higher command at all Municipal Police Stations, most especially the flagship program of the Chief PNP, the Courtesy Action Result Example (CARE) Tamad Abusado Bastos Ayaw Padisiplinang Pulis (TABA).
Manito also said that the police provincial office, in cooperation with local government units in Eastern Samar, has been providing security and maintained peace and order for the safety of the people
