Prov’l gov’t expects mall investors in Leyte

TACLOBAN CITY – In conducive converse of the province into an Eco-Zone, Governor Carlos Jercho “Icot” L. Petilla called for great investors to the province also creating the Leyte Information and Communications Technology (ICT) hub here.

The provincial government’s Leyte Tourism and Investment promotion Center (LTIPC) revealed that the people from the Robinsons Mall would be visiting for an ocular inspection of the Eco-Zone site and look for a 5-hectare property to see their business establishment is viable for operation here in the province.

According to Gov. Petilla, he said that the chief executives of establishments such as SM, Ayala and Robinsons Mall were already given data regarding the Eco-Zone in Leyte. He added that if we could not draw in the province these target establishments; we have even smaller establishments that would be potential investors including Ever Gotesco, Sta. Lucia mall and Gaisano.

The governor said that it would be an option for interested investors to either locate at the sprawling property at the Government Center adjacent to the Leyre Academic Center or in a private sector property.

Moreover, with AMA Computer Learning Center’s recent lease for occupancy of ¼ of the LAC, the governor is optimistic that various educational institutions offering different courses will subsequently located in the center.

With the said institution’s participation in the LAC, the governor is likewise hoping for a great response from other investors including the mentioned business establishments.

Assuming its thrust in the creation of the ICT hub in the province, according to the LTIPC here, an ICT selling mission is set this 30 th and 31 st of January to invite investors to set up Business Process Outsourcing (BPOs) and call centers in the province .
