CATARMAN, Northern Samar – A total of P28, 515, 656.39 million worth of infrastructure projects has been reported completed for calendar year 2004, implemented through the provincial engineer’s office (PEO) headed by Engr. Eulogio Cabili in this province.
In a report obtained by this LSDE correspondent, out of the total of 54 projects that has been implemented, 13 are still on-going. The dates of the unfinished projects only started last Oct. Nov., and Dec. respectively.
According to the report, the biggest of which is the repair and rehabilitation of Balud-Balnasan provincial road in San Roque town costing P4.9 million. It is 100 percent completed last Oct. 2004, followed by the repair and improvement of Northern Samar Provincial Hospitals (NSPH) that costs P1.7 million, while a total of P1 million has been allocated for the road paving of Galutan-Imelda farm-to-farm market road in this capital town.
Aside form this, according to their report, there is an ongoing termite and rodent control application of the new capitol building and governor’s residence together with termite control application at Biri, Allen and Catarman district hospitals.
On the health and education aspect of the Daza administration, funds has also been allocate for the repair of school buildings in the first and second districts of the province particularly, pathways construction of Rawis, Laoang National High School. Funds was also allocated for the construction of six barangay health centers in Rosario town costing P2 million.
Governor Raul Daza has also been very instrumental to act on the clamor of the people of San Jose town for their environmental drive. He allocated funds for the improvement of their road in Brgy. Aguadahan going towards their ‘sanitary landfill’ phase-1.
Also, aside from the completion of the administration building, of the agriculture training and demonstration centers here in Catarman, improvement of the Commission on Audit (COA) office as well as the construction of ‘shore protection’ in Brgy. Pilar in the island town of San Antonio has been completed, among others.
