TACLOBAN CITY - After a long stint with the Region Eight Administrator League (REAL), Land Transportation Office Regional Director Raul Aguilos has been elevated to the prestigious post of the presidency during an election conducted in one of the government office with most of the region’s top administrator or directors in attendance.

The election was called after a meeting was preceded by discussions as to the format of the voting. Before the election the members of the league first treated on the accomplishment of the organization and the development which were established during the term of office of the outgoing president, Director Alexander Reuyan of the National Irrigation Administration.

Prior to his lection as president, Aguilos was the vice present of REAL. His election to the highest post of REAL was attributed ton his performance at the LTO regional office. Last year, LTO-8 was launched by the LTO national office for having topped nationwide the campaign against illegal transportation operation and for its impressive operation on traffic enforcement.

At present, Aguilos is embarking on the elimination of colorum vehicles, unauthorized used of plates, wheel maniacs, unregistered vehicles and traffic violators.

Aside from Aguilos, also elected were Flordelis Menzon of the PAG-IBIG, vice- president; Carina Santiago of the National Nutrition Council, secretary; Imelda Laceras of the Department of Budget and Management, treasurer; Cynthia Nierras of the Department of Trade and Industry, auditor; and Karen Tiopes of the Philippine Information Agency, public relations officer.

The board of Director is composed of DOST Regional Director Edgardo Esperancilla, Civil Service Commission Regional Director Rodolfo Encajada, Professional Regulation Commission Regional Director Gerry Palabyab, Air Transportation Office Director Dalisay Muertegue, NTC Director Samuel Young, DOH Assistant Regional Director Benita Pastor, Department of Education Regional Director Sol Matugas, DPWH Regional Director Jaime Pacanan, and NIA Regional Director Alexander Reuyan.

Chairmen of the different committees were: For Mebeship – Drector Reuyan with BFAR Regional Director Gil Adora as vice-chairman, Ways and Means – Director Pacanan with NTC Director Young as vice-chairman; Sports – Director Palabyab with DOH Assistant Director Pastor as vice chairman; Scholarship – Director Matugas with CSC Director Encajada as vice chairman; and Special Projects – Director Encajada with Director Palabyab as vice-chairman.

Aguilos said he would call a meeting this January to discuss the induction of the new REAL officers.
