BORONGAN, Eastern Samar – The Eastern Samar PNP Provincial Police Office (ESPPO) for the first time in years garnered the Provincial Office of the Year award, Provincial Director of the Year award, the Provincial Mobile Group award and the Municipal Police Station of the Year award.

Gov. Ben Evardone will also receive a Special Award during the PNP regional celebration of the PNP 14 th Anniversary today.

According to SPO4 Cirilo Nicart Jr., Provincial Executive Senior Police Officer (PESPO) of the ESPPO, it is quit a feat for OIC Police Director Manito even if he assumed the Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office only last Aug. 23, 2004.

The 805 th PPMG at Brgy. Buenavista, Quinapondan is under Sr. Insp. Cristino Alpez Lucero while the Guiua Municipal Police Station id under Insp. Mateo B. Macale, the chief of police. In 2003, the Gipporlos Municipal Police Station was also an awardee as the MPS of the Year where Insp. Macale was the chief of police there, Nicart said.

This annual search is conducted by Search Committee to give due recognition to outstanding achievements of the police organizations including the media in Region 8.

The PNP Day celebration would be replicated her in Eastern Samar on February 3, where a mass will be celebrated as a sign of thanksgiving.
