CATBALOGAN, Samar – The Catbalogan chapter of the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP), a nationwide organization, was formally installed as a local chapter here on Saturday, February 5, 2005.

The theme of the affair was – “Moving Forward in Christ…Race Forward and fun Towards the Goal”. (Philippians 3:13).

The installation affair has been announced with the cloth streamers which had been hanged across the streets of this town.

Some socio-civic residents here had welcomed the organization here, as it is an addendum of the other civic organizations, like the Rotary, the Jaycees, and the Couples for Christ, to name a few.

The formal installation rites were preceded by a Eucharistic Celebration at the St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral here. This was followed by a testimonial dinner and the formal installation.

Installed were outreach servant couples Raul and Perla Reyes, outreach head; Lemuel and Cecil Daguman, formation director; Jaime and Lingling Bernales, mission director; Rudy and Sol Mendiola, programs and services director; Pete and Roring Bolastig, treasurer; Jude and Rhoda Batula, unit I leader;

Willy and Nilda Cinco, unit 2 leader; Dennis and Denden Nacionales, unit 3 leader; Arnie and Marites Aroza, unit 4 leader; Charlie and Malyn Singzon, music ministry head; Roger and Engay Brillantes, secretariat; Raul and Vangie Tabasa, liturgical ministry head; Bon and Bobet Cinco, social action ministry head;

Benying and Ruby Parocho, teaching ministry head; and Alice Arcales, intercessory ministry head.

One member of the BCBP said they joined the organization because they felt that there was a strong need among businessmen and professionals, to live their lives and conduct their business according to Christian principles, and idealism.

Guests came from outreach chapters from Tacloban, Ormoc, Naval, Maasin, Baybay, Calbayog, Catarman and Borongan.
