Themed “Pagkaurusa ngan Karisyuhan ha EVSU ‘11”, the institution’s executives, directors across satellite campuses, college deans, heads, mentors, alumni and non-teaching staff donned the Filipiniana and Barong Tagalog attires filling the auditorium with merriment and lavishness last night.
Different activities and presentations were carried out featuring “Pista sa Nayon” cultural show competition by various departments wherein Non-Teaching personnel in their Bulaklakan entry won among the other rivals.
The College of Education’s (COEd) faculty prevailed in the Contemporary Philippine costume fashion show, the non-teaching staff for the National Costume ternos, and the best in male’s Barong Tagalog classical and original was Foreign Peace Corps volunteer and COEd mentor Mark Fulmer.
Staging kuracha’s best moves was a pair of a male instructor from College of Technology (COT) and a female instructor from COED, one of the highlights of the Karisyuhan.
Dr. Catalino B. Beltran, university president in his message discussed about the recognitions that EVSU had garnered for milestone of existence as one of the premiere technological institutions in the region and undoubtedly a world class state university that would continue to work hand-in-hand for the years to come.
He also congratulated everyone who supported with loyalty for the promotion of quality education and manpower services to the university.
Prizes for the winners were sponsored by the Cultural Affairs and Sports Development (CASD) department through Director Perla T. Figer and were adjudged by Jez de Paz, founder of the Leyte Dance Theater.. |
