After two years of studying here in LSU, I learned a lot of things from the experiences I had. College life is entirely different from high school. So, here are simple tips to follow in order to survive the pressures and challenges of college life.

GET YOURSELF ALWAYS ORGANIZED. Studying in LSU will definitely test your time-management skills so equip yourself with a daily organizer. Some cellular phone units may function as such or if you don’t have that much money, a simple pen and notebook may do the job for you.

EQUIP YOURSELF WITH A RELIABLE ALARM CLOCK. It pays to be on time regularly. Take note that some LSU instructors are fond of surprising students with quizzes prior class discussion.

SIGN YOURSELF UP FOR EXTRA AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. Taking part in school organizations adds color to your tedious college life. The more the merrier, so long as your schedule permits it. Make new friends and surround yourself with interesting people in and outside of school.

HIT THE LIBRARY. The school library is the bets place to do your research assignments. With the tranquil environment of the library, you can definitely concentrate on studying your lessons. The library is also good for your regular reading habits. LSU library has an ample collection of magazines, novels, newspapers and other reading materials. Quiet places without distractions such as TV, telephone and radio may also be a good site for studying.

INSPIRE YOURSELF. Personal inspirations will keep you going in school. You may feel at your best when you have a special someone brightening your day. It would be better if your inspiration will be someone who possesses admirable qualities, so you’ll be driven to work hard and succeed in your everyday tasks.

TO DO LISTS COME IN VERY HANDY. A corkboard for your activities, schedules and to-do lists will be very useful if placed in a conspicuous area in your room. Keep yourself posted all the time. Always remember to tick off one action at a time. Color-coordinate your notebooks and pens to create more fun with schoolwork.

JOT DOWN IMPORTANT LESSONS REGULARLY. Some students are fond of borrowing notes from their classmates and they photocopy it. As a result, they can hardly understand the writing on the notes, which leads to low examination scores. Make your own notes and do not forget to highlight important facts in your notes and books for they may appear in your upcoming exams.

GET A TUTOR. Your ates and kuyas may be a big help in solving those mind-boggling Math problems. Or you can also ask a classmate to teach you some Math tricks. You may also ask these people to help you in other difficult subjects you have.

KEEP YOUR STOMACH FULL. Remember that an empty stomach will drain your brain. Eat regularly. Try not to miss breakfast – the most important meal to kick your day. And is budget permits, take your snacks between classes.

SLEEP ENOUGH. Do not work during the 11th hour because it may jeopardize your regular sleep. Always work in advance and avoid cramming over those school requirements. Good sleep means good mood.

BE FIT. Exercise regularly to strengthen your body. Walk instead of riding vehicles to energize those muscles and joints. This invigorates your body while you are helping economize fuel.

With you following these simple tips, you’ll surely have fun studying in LSU as I do.
